Tank Cleaning and Fuel Restoration
Fuel storage tanks containing free water, phase separation, contamination and degraded fuel can be a costly nightmare for fuel retailers and commercial fuel users. SIMARD & SONS has a comprehensive solution for removing contamination and free water as well as a patented process for restoring fuel quality and remediating phase separation.
The Simard & Sons Advantage
Unlike other tank cleaning services, our technology sweeps the entire tank floor to remove contamination and free phase water from the tank. Our Leighton O’Brien patented process restores and returns 100% of the useable fuel. We also provide a full service report including product quality check and fuel inspection report on all tanks that have been serviced.
Phase Separation: The Leighton O’Brien tank cleaning and fuel restoration technology removes free water and remediates the remaining phase separated fuel to a saleable condition without additives. Using Leighton O’Brien you do not need to dispose of your phase separated fuel or dose it with unproved additives. SIMARD & SONS can restore your fuel to a refinery specification.
Microbial contamination: Many commonly occurring microbes in petroleum product grow in the water/fuel interface or in sludge on the tank floor. Biocide, applied correctly, is a very effective means of killing the existing microbial growth in your tank. However, by killing the microbial growth in the tank you’re enhancing the environment for new bacteria to grow. Leighton O’Brien’s tank cleaning and fuel restoration process will remove 100% of the microbial growth and the environment in which microbial activity can flourish hence eliminating the potential for reoccurrence.
Degraded diesel: Our process can recondition and restore aged, degraded diesel fuel to clean, dry and on specification fuel. The risks of ageing diesel fuel is well known and many of our existing customers engage us to annually recondition and regenerate their backup fuel supply, saving thousands of dollards in fuel replacement costs.
